contact lenses

Our Optometrist has a special interest in contact lenses, and has been fitting lenses for over 20 years.  Whether you wear regular soft disposable lenses, or have post surgical, RPG (hard) lens fitting requirements we have the technology and experience to assist you.

Soft disposable contact lenses are available for a majority of people, they are safe to wear and come in daily, fortnightly and monthly wear types.  They can be single focus lenses, or multifocal, or even a mix of reading and distance lenses.

RGP (or hard) lenses are also suited to general wear, and can also be multifocal or single focal.  They are best suited to irregular shaped eyes (conditions such as keratoconus, or after corneal graft surgery).  Speciality RGP lenses are available to “shape” your eyes while asleep, which then eliminate the need for you to wear glasses or contact lenses during the day (this is called orthokeratology) and is especially useful for short-sighted eyes and can actually prevent the condition progressing.

If you are interested in trying contact lenses, then make an appointment HERE, or call our friendly staff directly on 02 49530628 to arrange a time.

Some contact lens consultations are not covered by a Medicare rebate, and this is dependant on your prescription, or eye condition.  Advice on the right contact lenses for you is free, and included in your initial eye assessment.  We also always offer a free trial of soft contact lenses to help you decide if they are the right option for you, with no strings or conditions attached..!
